Shift

If the numbers are any indication, international politics aren't all that interesting. Given how much time went into the last post on Egypt, and how much more on the planned three posts to follow it, I don't know if it matters. This is a good thing, I suppose; I've got coursework to handle and a book to write, in addition to that whole "day-to-day living" thing.

If enough people ask, I'll continue the series (as I enjoy the process of research / writing). As it stands, I'm going to return to the one-post-at-a-time practice, predicated on passing whims. This will likely not involve much in the way of domestic U.S. politics, like the piece of shit budget and the G.O.P.'s war on women; the leftist blogosphere is overflowing with posts on those topics, and frankly, it disgusts me. I'm moving into a more individualist streak, as our species is depressingly stupid to the point that I start sounding like a bitter, psychopathic functionalist supervillain. Like I've said before, the fringe douchebags get their toehold and affect policy 'cause we allow them to.

Do we deserve the worst they can give us? Right now, my answer is yes, and I know enough to recognize that as a problem. Modern global society is going to be just as fucked up, whether or not I jump on the blogwagon populated by HuffPo, Alternet, Pandagon, Kos, Crooks & Liars, etc. If you want that shit, read it there. If you want my take on something, ask me, and I'll be glad to approach it to the best of my abilities, with my own methods / emphasis. Otherwise, strap in, 'cause don't nobody know what the hell is gonna happen here next.
